No, Lahemaa National Park is completely free to enter, and you can hike the RMK trails without a guide. However, because the park is vast (747 sq km) and public transport is limited, a guided tour from Tallinn is the most practical option for those without a rental car.
Most full-day tours from Tallinn include round-trip transport in a minivan, a local guide, a guided walk on the Viru Bog boardwalk, and visits to one or two historic manors (like Sagadi or Palmse) and a coastal village (like Altja or Käsmu).
Usually, no. Most tours do not include lunch in the base price, though they will stop at a local tavern or manor restaurant where you can purchase food. Check the specific inclusions of your chosen tour.

Excellent experience and well organised but need to be aware a lot of walking Would highly recommend it
Kullo is an exceptional guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about the fauna, flora and history of Lahemaa and Tallinn. The scenery itself was amazing, but Kullo definitely made the experience a lot more interesting
Super recommended escursion on May 29, 2026 for Lahemaa park, waterfalls, old houses and baltic sea spots. The guide was eccellent and the quality in general was very high.
